Chicago Movement Gym is a true natural movement gym unlike any other. None of us are a finished product and here at Chicago Movement Gym we’re always looking for “what’s next” and how to keep growing.

CMG believes that developing strength and mindfulness is key to better movement  + athletic performance, which naturally improves everyday. We’re looking for people who are able to commit + are willing to form part of the global community that represents Movement Culture. We aim to help people of all ages expand their movement vocabulary, reclaim their range of motion, learn mindfulness in their practice, and build their strength for physical longevity.

We’ve all been there. Worked out, pushed weight, and tried to show off in front of the mirror. Hell...there’s so much equipment that you probably don’t even know where to begin at these big gyms. I mean, who do you even ask for help?

Chicago movement gym is here to make you feel welcome. We’re not here to intimidate you. We only want to help you reach your goals and be a part of our movement family.

Meet Lauren

"Lauren is as sweet as the sweetest pie on earth..."

What are 3 things your passionate about? I'll go first:
1. Traveling to experience new cultures
2. Painting for days
3. Connecting with others because I want to get to know you
Now you go...

I've always been passionate about the movement culture + learning ways to feel most at peace + aligned within the body.

After getting my Bachelor’s degree in Health Education + Workplace Wellness, + traveling around Asia searching for health practices I could incorporate into my every day, I have always found myself within the wellness space. I am a certified Corporate Wellness Specialist and certified Meditation Teacher + I’m always looking to grow + learn more about healthier living.

I’m excited to be a part of your movement journey with Dr. Khong. Collective knowledge is always better. Come into the office + share a cup of tea with me. Can't wait to see you, cheers!

What If I can reach the peaks of my potential?

What if all of my injuries were avoidable?

What if working out was more like a dance, rather than a task?

The 3 “what ifs” that represents a constant journey and eagerness in search of the most efficient ways of movement.

Movement is a huge part of who I am: my personality, my passion, my intention. For as long as I can remember, I was always playing one sport or another. From running track, swimming, playing Football ( the real football) to basketball, tennis, and the list continues.

From sports, I shifted my attention to martial arts starting with Ninjutsu continuing on to Krav Maga and finally, my favorite so far, Capoeira!

Being active definitely has its benefits, but the down side of such a lifestyle are without a doubt, injuries. I used to blame my injuries for the reason why I didn't reach my goals within those activities, but now I try to shift that energy towards learning from injuries.

Working with Dr. Khong has made that process much easier, enjoyable, and educational by providing knowledge and guidance of movement so that in the future injuries will not take such a toll on my body.

I am  forever a student with the glass half full. Joining the movement culture here in Chicago has taught me so much in such a short time. I’m excited to continue to learn, as well as to help others reach the peaks of their movement potential.

“We don’t stop moving because we grow old; we grow old because we stop moving”

Come move with us and lets make working out feel like a natural dance!
